Reminiscent of the baseball card rush of the 1980s, classic videogames are becoming highly valued collectibles. In early February, a North Carolina eBay seller lace_thongs35 made headlines when her copy of NES game Stadium Events sold for more than $13,000. That was just the tip of the iceberg though. Last week, a Kansas man who read of the high-priced sale sold his own copy of Stadium Events for more than $41,000.
Dave could never find the floor mat controller required for Stadium Events, so he never opened it -- the game was still in its original shrink wrap. The game was already considered the rarest of Nintendo's licensed games. An unopened copy is the holy grail for collectors
