Activison Blizzard plans new Spider-Man, StarCraft II, & Cataclysm expansion This Year

In preparation for the company's quarterly investor conference call, Activison Blizzard has divulged some of its release plans for 2010, including a new Spider-Man game, as well as StarCraft II and World of Warcraft: Cataclysm. Despite the fact that the Spider-Man film franchise is in serious flux, Activison Blizzard will still be tossing a video game dedicated to the web-slinger onto store shelves this year. In an announcement preceding the company's conference call today, Activison-Blizzard CEO Bobby Kotick said "In calendar year 2010, we expect our net earnings and operating margin growth will be driven by our product slate that includes Blizzard Entertainment's StarCraft II and the World of Warcraft expansion pack, Cataclysm, as well as a diversified lineup based on Activision Publishing's best-selling franchises including Call of Duty, Guitar Hero, and Tony Hawk, together with other well-known titles such as True Crime, Spider-Man, and Bakugan."

While 2010 dates were known for Bakugan and the recently-announced True Crime, the oft-delayed StarCraft II looks like its set to finally consume the lives of RTS fans this year. We're currently on the line for Activision's conference call and will report any additional findings shortly.
