METROID -- Metroid star Samus might be tough as nails, but she's not nearly as prolific a performer as fellow Nintendo icons Mario and Link. Only a dozen Metroid games have been released since 1986, and with last year's story-driven Metroid: Other M in the books, Samus isn't likely to headline a new effort in 2011.
