'Friends for Sale' was also for sale. Facebook gaming giant Zynga agreed earlier today to purchase Facebook game developer Serious Business for an amount that has yet to be disclosed.
Casual game giant Zynga announced earlier today that it has purchased Serious Business, the developer of some of Facebook's most prevalent games. While the company name may not ring a bell, its games probably will, as its Friends for Sale and Happy Hour apps have provided millions of fake transactions between friends.
As part of the announcement, the CEO of Zynga issued a statment saying, "We’re very excited to gain an experienced team that is committed to building social games. We are impressed with Serious Business' entrepreneurial attitude, speed, and innovation in developing social games and welcome them to our team."
The terms of the deal were not disclosed. With EA purchasing casual gaming company Playfish for $300 million dollars back in November, one thing can be surmised, Serious Business probably didn't sell for cheap.
